CityCyclingEdinburgh was launched on the 27th of October 2009 as "an experiment".
IT’S TRUE!
CCE is 15years old!
Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.
RULES No personal insults. No swearing.

Oh Ive been thinking of pitching a Bicycle magazine (for TV) but have other projects this year... things are looking up!
I've pitched, been turned down, pitched, met with a producer, been told I'm too white, male and middle class, pitched, been told to speak to production companies, pitched, and been told that cycling is too 'minority' an interest (at this point I pointed out television programmes on fishing...)
Humm, they might like the look of that Charlotte Barnes....
Pedal Powered chip shop?
anth, have you thought of doing a weekly podcast? Something along the lines of GamespotUK with news, interviews with local cycling worthies (there must be hundreds of them in Edinburgh)? The tech would be trivial to someone like you and there would be a queue to get involved from ERC, EBC, CCE, Spokes, Sustrans, Bethany, Lepra, TBC etc. etc.
+1
Ah, but the work involved. Could I really keep up with another thing like that?
Now, if a team was to produce, say, a monthly half hour show (I can edit, and I can present, but always nice to have help...)
(at this point I pointed out television programmes on fishing...)
Unless I'm mistaken, angling is still considered to be THE most popular participation sport in the UK.
Allegedly so. I think that's because cycle commuting and touring and audaxing and so on isn't considered as 'sport'.
Whereas spearing a fish through the mouth with a sharp thingy on the end of a stick is.
I did give them another example, but can't for the life of me remember what it was. All done over a coffee in the Filmhouse of all places, after attending an exhibition at the French Institute and chatted as we walked between the two. Surreal evening.
Well, I guess it's right that cycle commuting isn't considered, otherwise Motor Sport would be the most popular participation sport!
