Very interesting... also some people are far more sensitive to noise than others. My neighbour had an electric ventilator fitted in their bathroom, it drove me to distraction and kept me awake at night, they left it on all night and more so once they knew it annoyed me, I can hear it all through my house, and even called out the noise abatement people one night, but was told that there was nothing they could do. Although I live about 100 yards from a busy main road, I cannot have my windows open at night because of the noise from the traffic. I used to often walk on the North Downs Way and the noise emanating from the M25 was incredible, there you were in the middle of the countryside, deafened by the rumble and roar of traffic. Another bugbear is light pollution caused by motion sensitive spotlights and lighting that people leave on all night like porch lights, why? What is the need?
