Originally charged with murder after she admitted to deliberately running over a man in a car park (not a cyclist, but I'll get onto that) - it seems the lesser charge of manslaughter was offered because there was 'evidence she had braked' before hitting the unfortunate soul who suffocated under her car.
So, in answer to all of those questions about why people who hit cyclists recklessly, but unintentionally, don't get done for murder, it seems you can admit to doing it deliberately and still not get done for murder....
