Baz, I have been looking for an excuse to take my bike to Islay for a while and I think I have just found it ;-)

BTW any of you following this may have noticed the website went down, and its all gone a bit quiet. I contacted Jez and found out that there is no longer an organized tweed ride on Sunday, for unfortunate bureaucratic reasons. They hope that something can be rearranged when the red tape has been cut.

Ho hum, looks like nice weather for cycling, I'll just nip out on the bike anyway (tho probably not in Edinburgh this weekend)

I'm being euphemistic because there was apparently some legal wrangling. I don't want to make things worse by repeating something I shouldn't, but thought the cancellation should at least be posted here. If you bump into Jez I'm sure he'll explain.

Hmmm. So can we go back to the original plan mooted here/ Tartan and Tweed ride etc. Sounded spiffing :) Or would that be legally forbidden? We had someone suggest we organise one on the Greener Leith Facebook page, so perhaps we could put some money/volunteer time in if it could be routed through the Leith Neighbourhood Partnership. Would be nice to tie in with Bike Week too.

Well. I now have my get up (put together for another tweed purpose, but with cycling in mind too).

Edinburgh Tweed/Tartan Run never got anywhere, did it? Yet. I mean, Glasgow has one, that should be incentive enough!

Well Edinburgh is traditionally a bit tweedy anyway. So why not? Who will organise it though after last year's damp squib?

Just for the fun of it lets resurrect this three year old thread to celibate the first Edinburgh Harris Tweed Ride, so who wants to come along?
