The premise of the article seems to be confused. I was interested to find out in what interesting ways I was likely to by injured by a dangerous cyclist, but it turns out they are referring either to things cyclists do which make drivers grumpy (both legal and extralegal examples given) but that are not necessarily or particularly dangerous - or things cyclists do that put themselves at risk (riding up the inside of left-turning HGVs, say).

I wonder what the background of Carlton Reid is - he's the only one who came even close to what I think the reality of the situation is, other than, shockingly, the motorist ;-)

The most depressing of all is the mountain biker, who actually excuses dangerous driving on the basis that cyclists going slower than motorists "forces their hand" into committing offences. Sigh!

The article is verging on populist nonsense - i.e. cyclist generally bad or requiring some training, everyone else good, yeah ?

Seems odd from a bike website, however I can almost empathise with it in some respects - coming home tonight around midnight though middle meadow walk, I was almost creamed by a couple of bikes (one no lights) which were on the pedestrian side.

I fully appreciate it was not anyone on this site, but to joe public, it is a cyclist and proves the point.

this morning was overtaken by young kid trying to be danny mackaskill (bike looked mountain bike sized/shaped, but with bmx style seat at an angle). overtook me just past Preston st school, then immediately cut over and bounced onto the pavement, zoomed down and ... sped out past the railings across bernard terrace, as car about to turn into Bernard terrace. because of railings he was a few feet back from Dalkeith road, where no one would expect to see him. Lucky he didn't get smooshed. he probably thinks he was very clever....

Answer to above question is YES!
