Mystifying. How on earth can it be possible to be found guilty of crashing your car but not for causing the deaths of the people in it who you killed?

Almost as if there is no link between deliberately driving at 60 in a 30 zone and the accident.

5 year ban - longer than many? But should be longer?

He didn't crash his car. The car that crashed was the car he was racing, it was driven by Mr and Miss Chan who were the tragic victims.

OK - I had to re-read carefully to get that.

There were two cars being raced in a 30 zone. One crashed, killing both occupants. This guy is the other driver and he hasn't been found responsible for the other driver crashing, probably because the other driver could have chosen not to be racing around...

Seems reasonable, actually. TBH driving at 60mph in a 30 zone would not normally attract community service even, never mind jail time (and probably not a ban).

Neverthless, if everyone who drove at that speed in a 60 zone got the punishment this guy did, there'd be a lot less of it going on....
