By gum, it's quiet today. No wind, few cars, and few posts.

It's Horrible History day on CBBC so everybody is in watching Stupid Deaths and other bits.

I've already sorted out a draggy SA 3 speed. Took the front brake rubbers off a Brompton, they're a little worn, so I'll order some new ones.

I'm (still) trying to install my "clip on" tri bars... Basically had to unbolt the complete bar assembly and re-build it "back to front" so that one of th ebolts pointed "down" rather than "up" and so A/ didn't mess with the heaset clamp and B/ could be adjusted while the bars are on the bike. Then I had to re-route the brake cables so that they didn't foul with the clamping mechanism. This necessitates removing the bar tape completely as I had taped it from the inside out, so couldn't just roll it back and trim it short...

Oh well, I did have a couple of rolls of sexy 2-tone yellow tape I had been meaning to put on.

Adjusted the rear rack position to make space for my tool/first aid underseat pouch, finally got around to fitting the rear light to the back of the rack (easy with the cateye rack bracket).
Fitted the lovely sounding brass bell to the stem and now footering around with the bars as they never seem quite perfectly straight until they've been re-adjusted about three times, ridden for a couple of days and then done again??
Need to adjust the rear gears before Thursday as I reckon the cable has now finished stretching and I suspect I may need the granny gear to engage first go in Glencoe :-o not done yet though as I'm wasting time spodding on here and considering another cup of tea :-)

It will be much quieter, the bell is to provide an alternative to my airzound :-o ;-)

I was warned, whilst buying it in TBC, not to talk to a certain member of staff about them otherwise he would bore the other staff members about the quality of brass, resonance etc etc!

Pashleys come with a loud ding dong bell. It tinkles a bit on rough roads.

Obviously the physics dept and I had to take it apart to find out how it made two notes. The striker hits the top on one stroke and the bottom on the other. Being different masses they have different notes.
