Energy saving fail

Everywhere in our new office there are high-tech light detector systems so that the lights will only be on if somebody is moving about.

The toilets and other public-facing rooms have signs saying "please keep the door closed so we can save energy".

But because the lights *always* come on when somebody is moving, they come on anyway even when the room is very bright due to the direct sunshine (wall-to-wall windows, albiet frosted in the loos).

    How rediculous.

At a place that I go to, the lights have light sensors as well as motion sensors. But the motion sensors can be annoying if you have a deskjob and don't move!
