"OW." ?
I've not even posted today's entry yet - which definitely justifies that response...

Sorry, was looking at twittery thing. as now described in post! Glad you're okay. I don't usually do right-hand filters unless I can clearly see traffic lights and know they're not going to change soon, especially with passenger in seat, but, like you, took a chance this morning at holy corner, and JUST as I was slipping into ASL red box around bonnet of car, the lights changed....not nice, but I got away with it. Won't be doing it again though.

Yeah, I'm the same with the right hand filters, and that traffic was going nowhere (as evidenced by the car that I hit braking!).
Always slightly unnerving making your way to an ASL when you're not sure how long it is till the lights go green as well. Like you say, sometimes you take a chance and get away with it!

Nice layout, I like the dark and moody look.

@ Filtering - just remember that you don't have to filter to the ASL, you can just wait for green in the traffic stream, just take a primary position behind the vehicle in front.

Kim, that's my usual tactic if I don't know the light sequence. Filter (whether on left or right) to reasonably near the front - as soon as there's a big enough gap between a couple of vehicles for me to stop in.
Every now and then, usually when I know the sequence, I'll take a chance on getting to the front before the lights go green. 99 times out of 100 it's absolutely fine. There's always that one time they go green before you clear the last vehicle.
