    In principle this a 'shame it's necessary, but probably a good thing'.

    Though this (Braidburn Valley Park) seems to be a slight overeaction to an odd (probably one-off) event.

    It would be nice to think that there might be an increased chance of coming across the odd policeperson (on a bike of course) on the off road network, but...

    It would probably be cheaper to have 'parkkeepers', but...

    I suppose the Big Soc future is Sustrans ranger vigilanties!

    "Parkies" are still alive and well in the annuals of Oor Wullie. They still wear peaked caps and blazers and gumboots.

    "Workies" still wear flatcaps and tackety boots and sit around braziers drinking tea from cans. They still do precious little obvious work.
