Did the rules for PBP get tightened at some point in the past? I know someone who did it but unless they have become more relaxed in their training I cannot see them completing it in the 90 hours (or whatever the time frame is)

19 hours in and around 380km covered - that's pretty fast and was averging over 23.5km/h on one stage. Think he had rest at TINTENIAC and will now be heading west again. Other LB (Alf C) rider has gone ahead of him at moment - slightly.

The fastest group are already closing on Brest I think.... amazing. These show numbers at Tinteniac with the fewer lead numbers pushing on into Finisterre
    TINTENIAC 2330
    LOUDEAC 914
    CARHAIX-PLOUGUER 119
    BREST 0

    His latest tweet.....

DM Drat. Sleep. 44k to st nic but ~1730 too early. 76k to carhaix, but ~1930 also early. Not going to brest in a day or ride in dark..

He's well up field - 900 riders through Carhaix. 300 are past Brest. Around 4500 in event.

Anther LB recliner is past Carhaix at 525km - Alf is from Penicuik but not on forum. Amazing to see stats on this.

Update as Dave enters his second night on the long roads through Brittany...

PBP Tracking estimates that he'll get into Brest between 01:31 et 03:38 tomorrow morniing...
PBP live stats - where event is up too

Ahead of him is another 600k.
Just to cheer him up he'll now have seen the 300+ riders heading back the way to Paris. At least if it's dark he needn't wave...!

With him are a group of around 1700.
Behind him are the rest - around 1900 I think...

So he is doing very well in an extreme event with some extremely fast riders...

He said he wasn't really that bothered about going - just warming up for 2015 ;–)

He's made Brest and is on return leg.... well done to him. Can only imagine what that was like.
