@chdot it must be man-flu as so many as still chosing to travel one per car - to avoiding spreading?

Overtaken here tonight, with even more parked cars.

Still not sure how that was physically possible.

Passing Arbor Green nursery and some wacko starts to pull out. Ok it's dark but FFS there are streetlights, I am in high viz and I have 4 lights on at the front. 2 flashing one bright solid light on the bike and a head torch. Seriously if you are that blind don't drive!

bah man flu - my driving today was awful cos i hate it.

anyway, witness in might left mirror after i passed the rider, said rider (through inverkeithling) this morning had someone pull out in front of them with not much room to spare.
of course it makes it all ok if the driver then accelerates hard away and right up my arse.

rider had lots of lights (2 front) , reflective bits too. - driver prob just didnt care as he was late so it was ok to endadeger life.

I got properly cross this morning. Big wavy arms swearing and red faced angry.

Stopped at temporary traffic light and 2 cars overtook me when the light went green giving me about 20cm clearance off my handlebars.

Its amazing how polite the cars behind are though when I vent my rage.

Guy pulled out right in front of me last night onto Slateford Road. I was a bit cross so roared at him and then caught up with him slightly further up the road. Had a wee word via the passenger side whilst he gesticulated at me. His dog, which was sitting in the passenger seat, just looked at me blankly. Sat in front of him in primary until the right turn at Shandon Place, much to his irritation apparently judging by the horn honking.

Going down a narrow road behind Corstorphine at rush hour this evening. Passing a parked van on the other side of the road (so I had priority and there was no way that a car could fit too). I was in primary position as you'd expect. The first oncoming car stopped to let me through, as was my right and its obligation. The car behind them blasted past them and drove at me (and I do mean at me) so that I had to pull into the kerb to avoid being hit.

The driver of the first car looked horrified.

Not clear what the actual charge was that could result in licence points.

When cautioned and charged by police Rycowski replied through a Polish interpreter: “The people in the other car provoked me.” Rykowski, of Livingston, was fined £375, with eight points added to his driving licence.

Filtering down the left (in the cycle lane), had to mount the kerb to avoid getting squished. Can definitely remember being instructed to use my left mirror when I had driving lessons..

Close pass from a particularly "cool" driving instructor. Not a horrible close pass but enough to make me wonder if they are in the right line of work.

Heading into town at craigleith junction around 8:30 watched a cyclist, red jacket, beard and road bike nearly being taken out by a white VW. The driver moved to the inside lane as if he wasnt there ...much gesticulation from the rider but phenomenally stupid driving ...the driver must have seen him and just decided he was unimportant or should stop and give way ... On this rare occasion I was driving ... I pulled up beside the VW and expressed my opinion politely ..the driver studiously ignored me.

@dk1: I saw a driving instructor (sole occupant so it wasn't a learner) egregiously tailgating another car along Oxgangs Road this morning. My reaction was the same as yours. I suppose it might go some way to explain some of the s****y road behaviour that is observable every s0dd1ng day...

Not especially dangerous, but annoying pass by the Edinburgh Park Shuttle Bus this evening,. But in retrospect:

    1. No need, I was travelling over 20mph.
    2. It's a wide road and he could have given me a lot more space.
    3. As soon as he had finished overtaking, he hit the brakes for the corner.

On my side I should have been riding more defensively.

Today, by driver of a red Honda HR-V, A19 HRV, who had stopped on the West Harbour Road entrance to Granton Square. Only trouble was they were facing the wrong way after having entered from the east from Lower Granton Road, ignoring all signage to stay/turn left and had moved to the right lane to continue straight through to discover their error.

I do wonder if every police car should be unmarked. blue lights in the grill or popout blue lights on the top of the car should be easy to do in this day an age, then everyone would wonder if the car they are next to/behind/infront of is a police car....

I suppose this was rubbish driving, more of the SMIDGAF variety than accidentally rubbish. I was riding the Elephant Bike along the Seafield Moor Road this evening, half nine or so; it was dark and cold and quiet and really rather nice. But every drivist coming towards me failed to dip their lights. I was armed only with my Moon Comet style front light and my genuine bona fide LEDified vintage front lamp mounted on the fork, and I really wasn't much competition.

As I trundled towards Hillend I reflected on the sheer luxury that is the lighting on the torpedo, which is quite effective at making those drivists jolly well dip their lights.

Got run off the road nearing home by a vehicle I know.

I also know the owner of the vehicle runs a business from their residential premises. I guess they'll never know why trading standards suddenly got on their case.

Driver of a Smooth Moves removals van turned left in front of me without indicating. I stopped, went up to the window and was greeted immediately by a middle finger. Nevertheless, I politely let them know that their back left indicator wasn't working.

It is unclear which road she is driving on but the camera does appear to show that the video ends at the Fort Kinnaird retail park in Edinburgh.

Black cab facing the wrong way just outside Pret a Manger in Shandwick Place, making it awkward for buses to pull into the stop. Blinkies on to show the urgency of loading a cup of coffee into the driver's face.

Re the clip on SWD; that should be reported to the Children's Reporter. I imagine that is an offence under the 1937 Children Scotland act, and it certainly appears to be 'lack of parental care'
