He was finally caught after driving an high powered Audi Q3 through the streets of Edinburgh at speeds exceeding 123 miles per hour. Traffic officers managed to detain him at the end of a 20 minute car ride which saw him driving on the wrong side of the road and ignoring road safety laws.

Uttered a loud profanity at the young man who pulled out in front of me here. I was pretty hard to see, what with my fluorescent yellow jacket and h*lmet and a retina-searing dynamo light. I suspect the actual cause was that he didn't look round his A-pillar. To his credit, he stopped to check I was OK and seemed genuinely shaken by the experience: I wasn't particularly, as I could see it coming and by the time it actually happened I was cross, but not surprised.

A bit later, approaching the Fairmilehead lights along Frogston Road, I indicated to move into the right-turn lane with the expectation that the driver behind me would lift his (it was a 'he') foot of the accelerator momentarily and let me cross in front of him to join the queue of stationary traffic just ahead. He instead chose to accelerate. I stopped behind him in the queue. He set off at a great rate when the lights changed. I filtered past him in the queue for the Greenbank lights and never saw him again.

Heading up the hill from the bypass to the Fairmilehead crossroads. At the lights there are three lanes. I can see that the left one is marked for left turning and not straight on, so I signal and move into the middle lane. As the lights change, a car appears on my left. Turning left? Oh no, they pass me on my left and then go straight on; as does the car behind. Bizarre.

Oh yes, the first car had a bike rack with bikes on the back. One of those mountain bikers who doesn't ride on the road because it's "too dangerous", no doubt...

Men who harass women from cars should face criminal charges, a cross-party group of MPs has urged, as the government comes under mounting pressure to criminalise sexual harassment.

Most drivers use the nearside lane for turning left now, but on Saturday I encountered another who didn't. I don't take the middle lane for the same reason I didn't before: it risks undertaking, especially if the lights are green when I reach them. I prefer to sit in primary+ in the left hand lane when going straight on.

Had a prat in an X5 J4RKE tooting his horn at me while I descended at 35+ mph at Carberry which is a 40 limit (well spinning out at well over 100rpm in 50x11)
This pales in comparison to someone scraping their bodywork on one of my club mates brake levers in Dalkeith . Have fun explaining that to your insurance company.

Cyclist down at top of Easter road junction, heading up to abbey hill.

They appeared to have been sideswiped by a PHC, who was being interviewed by cops and the cyclist shocked yet thankfully not seriously injured and being led away by paramedics.

    Stay safe out there!

Is it just me or PHC drivers seem to be the worst of those who deliberately stop in bike boxes and perform close passes when overtaking (and undertaking!).

Tailgated and close passed by a driver on Captain's Road. When they accelerated to pass me, the spare key which they'd left on their roof fell onto the road.

Luckily for them, I'm nice enough to stop, pick it up, make note of their number plate and try and get it back to them. I may not be above sticking in a note about their driving skills, though.

I am the kind cyclist you drove right behind on captain’s road. When you overtook me your spare key fell off your roof so I am kindly returning it to you. Please drive kindly.

The 15-year old was rushed to hospital after a collision between an electric motorbike and an Audio Q3 on West Pilton Street, at the junction with Ferry Road.

Not so much driving as being in charge of a vehicle. Builders doing work opposite my house have retreated to their van for a (probably well deserved) lunchtime snooze, but their van's engine has been idling now for 45 minutes. Presumably to run the A/C.

RTA 1988 s.42/HWC rule 123 can get in the sea, apparently.

Got a "Where's your helmet" after having the nerve to scowl at someone maneuvering on the bike lane/pavement on Corstorphine High Street.

Its funny in the car I probably would have paused long enough to let them continue their guddle of a 12 point turn.

Though given they started their maneuver after I'd approached they would definitely been scowled at from the car. Guess people feel more able to voice their defensiveness to an unprotected bicycle than another person in a large suv.

Lord Carloway concluded: “A driver has a duty to take reasonable care for other persons using the highway; even persons who are lying on it in a drunken stupor. Drivers are not entitled to assume that other users of the road will do so with reasonable care. Common experience is that many do not. The erratic behaviour of intoxicated persons in the early hours of the morning in town centres is something which requires to be guarded against.”

That is surprising though not as surprising as a paisley man found sober at 5am?
