    (Not allowed on WAR)

    And will there be signs?

Lothian Road will be MUCH worse than usual.

That run up the middle of Lothian road to make a right turn onto Fountainbridge can certainly be challenging if you're not familiar with the roads. And the winds can be really bad. First time I tried it, I had to get off and walk because I kept getting blown off-course.

You could either get on the West Approach Road as far as Canning St (this is OK for bikes, isn't it?) and then go parallel with WAR as far as the one way circuit. But not exactly a very friendly option for all the family (moving across the WAR for a right turn).

Alternatively, you could blow through the mess at the junction at the bottom (towards Dean Bridge) and go along Melville St etc?)

With apparently 1 in 5 vehicles on Lothian Road a bike, according to Spokes, they really ought to get the signage sorted out.

    Yes but no.

I had a look on Saturday

Shandwick Place wasn't actually shut, so it's even more confusing.

Ended up on pavement, of course..

Yes, but a bit convoluted, and I bet it's not signed.
