Fury is so over used in newspapers, it makes me furious.

I pedalled around a massive 4x4 in the ASL at Abercromby place last night and indicated quietly to the driver that they should not be occupying the box. The driver looked straight through me for quite some time before the lights changed. In these situations I find laughter better than fury.

McGembo - Full of Sound and Fury signifying nothing.

Ahh yes, but hold the outrage bus for a moment... isn't that the "PR Bill" which iirc was something like 0.01% of the budget for the projects and I am advised by those who know mostly went on the legally required task of advising potentially affected people what was planned/is happening. But never let it be said that a journalist let inconvenient facts get in the way of a good bit of fury...

And lets not forget the millions we pay for the Jim Murphy self promotion office.

Jim Murphy replaced me as a barman in The Doublet Bar (Park Road, Glasgow in 1987).

I find it very hard to see him as a politician but we all have to start somewhere.

I vote for fallopian tube as a starting place.

Were you ousted from the Doublet or did you stand aside pending promotion to the Lords?

I resigned my commission in an attempt to obtain a degree from the university. I did enquire after sitting my finals if I could come back but the initial treachery of resigning and the far superior talents of Jim Murphy meant there was no room for Gembo. This may explain my prejudice against Jim. I noticed his major impact when he went to Westminster was to organise the 5 a-side football competitions. Having said all that, I think he ousted a Tory called Allan Stewart (?) who had elaborate sideburns and walked around Eastwood with flintlocks. So he is strangely an improvement.

If it makes you feel better Jim Murphy never finished his degree but the bios usually gloss over that by saying he attended Strathclyde Uni.

Stewart never attacked anyone with the flintlock and he didn't even hit the peasants with his pickaxe. It's a normal thing to carry around Newton Mearns.

I went to the M77 demo a few times. They had upended cars as a Henge and various other fun things.

maybe, but he definitely did not have the correct licence for his sideburns.
