Some people on this are talking absolute nonsense.

Ah, you have noticed :) I find that it is one of this forums most charming aspects that such complete nonsense and tangents and non sequiteurs sit happily side by side with genuinely interesting debate, technical chat, news and views and a uniting love of all thing two (and even 3!) wheels. In my experience I have yet to find an online community where there are a more friendly and helpful and nice bunch of people, even if the charming nonsense is equally - or perhaps even more - present in "real life"

Anyway this is a bike site forum right? We should not be arguing about forum rules.

Bah! I see how it looks bad, but its a storm inna teacup. I make terrible typos and outright spelling mistakes when I dont have time to run the magic finger of my posts and I cant ever recall being brought up on it.

Good thing too as I cant stand spelling pedants, a funny typo is one thing, just being an arse is another. Bikey12 is right in pointing out that bb rules are pretty standard and this place is unusual in its lack thereof but it doesn't allow us to be smug about it.

Indeed. And/or cake, trains, homebrew electronics, bricks, cakes, home baking, preserves, soup, the good old days etc. etc.

    You forgot EDINBURGH.

I was thinking about having a poll about banning bricks.

Chimneys are made of bricks. Bricks are interesting reminders of our recent industrial heritage that you can find when out cycling. I'm sure everyone understands.

Well I am glad that is all cleared up, thank heavens for that....onto worshipful bikeliness. Hello Bikey12 and hello ThunderThigh.

Anyway I have lots of photos of bricks now and am not so active in their acquisition. I am thinking of a new project photographing the old hand painted numbers above tenement doors. That satisfies both my interest in old Edinburgh and in typography

    Stone or concrete.

    I think we need standards.

Flag it up then, which standards, better start laying down some rools. Kaputnik I don't believe we have met so not sure about charming nonsense in "real life" not that I am offended in the least!!

We can't ban bricks. That would be like banning wildlife. This is a bike forum after all.

@Liz - old joke usually applied to Winton House.

@chdot - you brought this on yourself:

    Hello

    Strange day

Thanks to gembo for west coast apology.

Can't believe that default php rules can't be modified/removed.

    Tomorrow is another day.
