CityCyclingEdinburgh was launched on the 27th of October 2009 as "an experiment".
IT’S TRUE!
CCE is 16years old!
Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.
RULES No personal insults. No swearing.

They might leave it.
I've just revisited this. Someone has been very naughty and should be sent to the naughty step for no longer than 18 seconds... for fear they contemplate their.... er... um yes!! sent to the naughty step!!
Yes the single lane stretch on the 'M9 spur' A8000 is that which links the M9 (behind Kirkliston) to the A90 (at Dalmeny/South Queensferry).
There has been quite a bit of work there recently, I see it as I pass along towards Queen Elizabeth Yards on my commute to work.
I saw a map of the FRC and it is intended that the approach road is to leave the A90 next to the Tesco/Dakota Hotel continuing west until it passes West South Queensferry where it turns North to connect to the new bridge.
We also drove from the A8000 onto the M9 (heading for Newbridge last week) and the earth works are being carried out on the south side of the M9 just prior to the A8000 turn off (north bound). I expect they will replace the 270 degree turn off (as it currently stands) with a 90 degree turn, which is why they are in the process of removing hundreds of tonnes of earth on the south bank of the current turn off.
With the expected volume of traffic I would also anticipate that plans are to widen the current A8000 from 2 to 3 lanes each direction? Or perhaps they are putting in new comunications networks for electronic signes etc?
Either way the junction at the A8000/A90 is also to be reshaped but we'll have to wait on that work to start.

My mistake, the do not plan to widen the A8000 (yet!!)
*flexes fingers*
Sorry I got here late...
So where am I posting?
False Alarm, he's making some sort of sense... [must be sober]
Someone who posts on the board should tell him of his unofficial fan club consisting mainly of the Unwashed, Bearded, and Liberal types on a hippie 'alternative transport' forum.
I'm wearing sandals and eating muesli.
@Baldcyclist, I resemble that remark!!
I knit my own tofu...
I'll have you know that I'm washed, shaved and have been informed by shouting in the past that I am a "fascist Nazi", mildly politically confusing but certainly not liberal.
Admittedly the shoutee had not the first idea what they were frothing about, but there you go.
Oh and I wont be wearing sandals until I get home, (not in todays weather anyway!) so there ;-p
I'm actually a Vegan. Just don't tell my work.
Does that mean you can do the death grip thingy like Spock then?
Erm, possibly worse:

PS, not a Vegan. My death grip is six kinds of awesome though. Trained by pulling brakes when someone hooks me on Corstorphine Road.
Yay! Corporate headshot...
Thankfully I can no longer find mine with a Google search, but bonus points if someone turns it up!

I love the fact someone's job title can be 'Pig Development Officer'...
THAT's not a corporate headshot. This is a corporate headshot...
Hehehehehehe!
Whereas I have this on LinkedIn...
I'm so professional me.
:-) If anyone can find mine I want to know who they got it from! :-o lol
Playtime again, Mwahahahaha

There's interesting, I just posted a reply and it's instantly "pending moderation", I wonder if I used a wrong word? (no impolite language btw!)
Smudge, you likely triggered their 'rant sensor' - as in, you weren't spouting enough Daily Wail-esque garbage.
Added a wee post.
Heh-heh, it's a guilty pleasure... and it seems I am not alone ;-))

Okay, contributed to that one as well...
I think PH might be on the wind-up... "And Clarkson's views ring far more true with the public than you give credit for. The man talks sense. End of!"
Loving the comments about bus lanes as well - they don't speed up the buses, and they only slow down the other traffic...
I do wonder where this nonsense stands morally. I've upset "Incandescent" as well now :-)
I have to say, he really should be able to shoot me down, my arguments are pretty rushed and sloppy, but then his are weaker so what the heck.
Wonder which other ranters I can annoy B-) Maybe I need little logos to put on the side of the computer in the manner of fighter or bomber pilots marking successful trips?
Bizarre outburst from some management bloke the TV luvvies like... http://www.scotsman.com/the-scotsman/transport/lord_sugar_backs_cycling_crackdown_1_1999468
