"Poor coordination of "KE!" there. Wouldn't have happened if CCE was in charge.
Plus who's that twerp with the giant bike?
Oh...
CityCyclingEdinburgh was launched on the 27th of October 2009 as "an experiment".
IT’S TRUE!
CCE is 15years old!
Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.
RULES No personal insults. No swearing.

No sign of today's protest on Radio Scotland's Newsdrive. No need to upset the motorists, eh?

Just trailed as "still to come..." on BBC Reporting Scotland. BBC1, now!
Min and Crowriver made it to the telly...
The Reporting Scotland item itself was quite balanced and informative, even showing Copenhagen as a model for encouraging cycling. But they ended on a shot of the unicyclist which then led to some banter between Jackie Bird and the weather bloke. Oh dear. Alas, their reaction speaks volumes and simply reinforces the attitude that cyclists are nutters.
Was I on the telly? I never noticed, must have been a glancing shot. Saw Min's pink dress though.
Yeah was a lovely demo, really nice to meet new people and catch up with old friends, all the usual suspects :)
After nearly everyone else had gone it turned into a bit of a 'lemme try that funny bike' session where I got to ride the Bullit, 8-Freight and a Coker (large wheeled unicycle) All of which were great fun but my favorite has to be the 8-Freight, very natural to ride if a little twitchy on the steering...
Crowriver I spotted you instantly by the placard and the thermos, good work! Maybe shoulda worked harder to get the recumbent into a shot...
Show afterwards was quite a laugh, watched by a grand total of 12 people, which was 12 more than I thought would stop.
The unicyclist is a friend of mine (strangely), I saw them getting shots and thought it might undermine the message slightly but hey, Id ride more uni if there were bike paths to ride on..
Shame I couldn't have forseen my 2pm staff meeting was going to be late, or I'd have been able to stay for more than a quick word. Grand to meet Tom and DaveC, and see the rest again, although a catchup needs to wait till Friday.
There were maybe 10 cyclists at Waterloo Place as I left, which was great since we outnumbered the two cars there by so much that we got all the room you could ask for. Critical mass and all that.
Among the various lovely devices was an absolutely gorgeous old French thing whose name looks like Raleigh but wasn't. Brass-plated brakes to match the handlebar trim, which I. MUST. OBTAIN.
I was chatting to Min and spotted someone I recognised, but didn't know who at the time. It was Edinburgh City Councils Transport Convenor, Gordon MacKenzie, Blue Waterproof with yellow flo bib.He was on his bike with a cycle helmet. I didn't recognise him at the time.
EDIT, infact if you lok at the pic of the Bullit with ProntoPeddlePower above, thats Gordon on the left, just in shot.
Ahh, so that is who it was. I missed myself on Reporting Scotland, boo. :-(

iPlayer it... First 'talk to camera' bit by David Millar, you walk by in the background clearly looking for us lot.
and crowriver!
Hey, that's me again, right in the middle of a sea of hi-viz yellow! Flat cap and placard, no hi-viz.
We were trying to figure out if we could think of a rude anagram from the letters we had. All I can say is don't book us for Countdown.
Good to see you all doing your bit. Impossible to get along in time due to work commitments, but well done for getting some visibility.

Oh dear, sounds a bit embarrassing. I have looked on iPlayer but it still just says "coming soon"
Don't worry Min, you have your back to the camera and you are the other side of the road.

I only managed a 3 letter non-word beginning with "N", ending in "B" and with a vowel please, Carole
If you look carefully at the one with the Minister taking the letter from Tom Ballantine, just over Alison Johnstone's shoulder you can see me again and my daughter. :-)
