Looks a bit lumpy to me.

I'm (hopefully) doing the Trossachs Permanent 100k from Bridge of Allen next week. Monday or Tuesday most likely. If only this lovely sunshine would stay for half term...

The following week, around 23rd, I'm doing a DIY 100k round the Forth. Again dependent on weather, but my route is approved so just wait for a half decent day when I'm not working...

Then the clocks go back, and the weather could get icy. So maybe no Audaxes until February's Tour of East Lothian (yes, it's back).

    No.

Though if you are planning next year's rides might make sense...

Good luck to those doing the New Season Brevet tomorrow. The forecast looks pretty decent.

I rode the New Season Brevet on Saturday. 8am left Gala, 10.10 @ Eskdalemuir (Sayme Ling)) 11.30 langholm for 1/2 hr lunch. Then 1pm arrived at Gretna - drink plus chocy, 2.15 back at Langholm. ~3.30 at Samye Ling for a bru & cake. Back at Gala for 6.20 ish. 128 miles or 207 km. 8.16 moving time. Still too much time sat around drinking tea etc... The weather was still in the marning with fog in the glans leaving Gala. Slight rain after Selkirk but only for 20 mins. Then dry and by lunch the sun was threatening. On the rtn leg the sun was out and wind strengthening but from the west so not too bad. Dark as we arrived back at the car and appart from the heal of my left hand hurting a wee bit I felt well enough to go for another 100km.

I'm a bit dissapointed with the last leg. It took around 2.10 to cycle the first 57km but around 3?? back? I'm going to have to check my receipts. Saymie Ling to Langholm was nearly all down hill but appears to have taken the same both ways?!?! Nah I need to check the times.

The Adventure Show covering the Snow Roads is tomorrow (Sun 18) at 7pm.

Hope I've got that right this time.

Just enjoying a recording of this. It's quite inspiring and nice to see all the characters that I've seen on audaxes.

Enjoying this now. Have only done a few Audaxes, but recognise a good few faces.

A little bit of recumbent vs. upright debate and some excellent airtime with George Berwick.

Dougie Vipond must have been in the saddle four or five hours longer than the first to finish. He was in a different league of suffering. Martin was being a bit disingenuous saying he thought of the distance broken into smaller sections. From the film it was clear he meant distances between cake shops.

Well my application for the ToEL went in the post today, and I completed an online app for the Forth and Tay 200 so I'd best stop watching it on telly and get some miles in! The three glens was the furthest I've ever ridden in a day (just) and it was "only" 165km :-s

See you on both of those then! I entered them as soon as they appeared on the AUK calendar: maybe a bit too keen?

P.S,:- shouldn't we be discussing this in the other thread?

Cool, I still think we need a citycycling cap or shirt for mutual spotability on these type of events! :-)

Anth has sort of prototyped citycycling jerseys, iirc... have they hit production volume yet?

There was deafening silence when some folk asked about producing a batch. So I'm guessing he's not keen...

Maybe something to do with the distinction between Citycycling (magazine) and CityCyclingEdinburgh Forum? So maybe just contributors to the magazine are allowed a team jersey? Fair enough, I think...

I think he's busy on projects.

Not aware of any .cc/CEC 'conflict' over attire.

Main difference is that Mr. .cc designed/organised team top, and I didn't.

Feel free to suggest some designs and organise a batch.

I'll be in an Audax Écosse jersey, though it will no doubt be hidden under a windproof or waterproof jacket, depending on conditions...

Actually, pretty keen, just not got round to it (haven't even got the website updated for about 3 months), and also slightly worried about any possible negative reaction. But. I'll re-jig the design a bit to incoporate .cc AND CCE, and fix a couple of things I wanted to fix, and then.... take orders.

Give me the weekend, I'll have the design to put pictures up, and paypal payment links for various ordering options (which will be payment to me for onward transition to the suppliers). Takes about 6-8 weeks for production, so if ordered before the start of December will be ready by the new audax season.

Prices will be cheaper than Foska, Prendas etc. And I'll have pics of the size I have and how that fits with my dimensions (Anth likes puppies and would like to see an end to world poverty, he measures 42, 34, 40) for informed sizing choices.

So, new thread on Sunday night with order options, open for orders till the end of the month (to take in pay day). And I'll see if they do caps as well.

@WC can we have colours other than Brown etc...? Red White and Blue is nice, goes with Scots colours (Blue and White) UK colours and Tour colours.

What you don't want to match the Kaffenbak?

    Posted 12 years ago #
  30. The current top is ORANGE!

BUt it might be possible to offer two or three colour combos. It might push the price up slightly, depending on order numbers. All will be clear on Sunday night.
