I am sore! And I seem to have come off better than most of you, so hate to think what you've all been through.

My first big off since I was 'doored' on Cowley Rd, Oxford - so my first in Edinburgh, I think. OW.

Ouch. I've not been off the sofa today and Fife seems unfrosted.

But aye, <blush>ghoulish interest</blush>. In return, I'll add my own (pretty unexciting) crash story that I didn't think to report here at the time. Three months later, my right hip is still a wee bit sore.

Don't be so sure Instography, it was very icy this morning in Fife. I'm sure by the sea may be unfrosted but further up into Fife its dodgy.

True. I should remember that my little corner is hardly representative of Fife.

@SRD, ouch. A friend always carries arnica with her and applies it immediately on the bashed areas, although it does not help the pain it certainly keeps the bruising from developing. The weather forecast last night did warn of ice and with it being so wet before sunset yesterday it was going to of the black/sheet variety. Hope you feel better soon.

Ironically the threads on here were all about gritting paths and EDC's lack of input into this, to hell with pedestrians and cyclists as long as cars are okay. I think a few cases of negligence from people who have fallen on paths etc might prompt some sort of action.

Liz - arnica at home...should keep some at work :)

I did look out the window this morning, checking for ice, and thought about it earlier, but then forgot entirely given how clear all the roads were...silly me

oh dear, one of my new students from Nigeria (waaay up north) has fallen on ice and broken his elbow. Just yesterday he was admiring the snow...

Ibuprofen or paracetomol may help with the pain. Ibuprofen helps reduce any swelling too. Did you hit your head at all? If so, please get yourself checked over by a doctor.

I still have twinges on the left side of my face when I chew food, that's a week after my fall. Elbow still tender too. The rest is pretty much okay. Completely self inflicted too, which makes it worse.

Anyway, get well soon and take it easy if you can. Glad it's not more serious.

Decided to treat myself for lunch, but couldn't open the door to PY with my left arm :(

Anyway, I'm doing okay. Bumped into colleague who rides Brompton with feather in beret (threads passim) who has foot in brace/cast after fracturing it in a fall while carrying her bike upstairs.

SRD - sorry to hear about your accident. Have you considered getting yourself checked over - if you can't open a door with your left arm then you might have done some serious damage.

Yes, that sounds quite bad. Your local GP will usually have some standby/emergency appointments so it really is worth getting it checked out. I turned up at my doctor's surgery oozing blood and was seen in 5 minutes flat!

Oh how crass of me to forget. I'm sorry to hear of you're spill SRD. I do hope you're not injured.

@crowriver, that was probably do with them not wanting to fork out for a harzardous waste cleaning Co rather than any triage reasons!

... but I have to admit I read the title and thought you might be pregnant.... 'ducks items close at hand being thrown at him...'
