Without contradicting your cynicism, it's encouraging that politicians are so willing to be seen to be 'encouraging walking and cycling'.
I think it's also safe to say that no-one in other parties will disagree.
Will any 'promise' more spending??
Though of course (as discussed on other threads) its not about money as such - more about it's spent and the attitudes of council officials, road users etc.
