So far interested parties seem to be:

    Numptie
    DaveC
    Tom
    Nelly
    Instography
    Kaputnik (with banana loaf)
    chdot (somewhere)
    amir

This will be a social ride so we will aim to keep the group broadly together, with the mountain goats waiting at the top of the hills for the rest of us.

    A reminder about this.

Current plan is to start from Eskbank Toll at about 10am this Saturday following approximately this route:

    http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/71819692

It is a social ride, and we will stop and look at interesting things as well as at a cafe. We're planning to pop to Carlops on the way around to recreate an old photo. There'll be refreshments at my house on our return.

Plans are flexible so if the start time doesn't suit do say.

It would be useful from the point of view of the refreshments if I know approx numbers - see list above for current possibles. DaveC has already let me know that he can't make it.

The route is shorter and less hilly than the Tour of East Lothian, though that's not to say there aren't hills. The plan is to keep everyone together whatever their speed. The "goats" can always do the hills twice :)

I'm afraid that due to prior commitment that I had forgotten all about, I can't make this weekend. Which is drat and double drat seeing as I was one of the main protagonists in this...

Excellent Numptie and Nelly - see you on Saturday.

kaputnik - shame about that. Now we will have no wind break ;)

Oh dear. I completely forgot about this and have now committed myself on Saturday, which is a shame because I need the practice and I'd make a much better but slower windbreak than kaputnik.

So the current list of TdM'ers is Nelly, Numptie and me. I'll pm you with my mobile just in case. See you 10am Sat at Eskbank Toll. Weather forecast looks very promising.

Recreation of Kaputnik's photo of his great grandfather at Carlops.

First with Numptie (not like his name) and Nelly

    Then with chdot and me

It was lovely weather and we benefitted from two cafe stops - at the Scots Pine nr Eddleston then at Whitmuir.
