    Wonder if it includes any dropped kerbs.

    @chdot yes they dropped the kerb on either side of Harrison Road/West Bryson a while back.
    Sadly I think they will miss bits as the yellow spray paint around the dodgy sections has somewhat worn away as it was put down a few weeks ago..
    I'll see when I get home

    It would be great if they could stop people parking over the entrance at Harrison Gardens. A solid white line seems to be easily ignored.

    the entrance at harrison road by the canal has no dropped kerb nor lines, so is very difficult to access except by riding on the pavement.

    Wouldn't mind if the lights by Polworth church could see cyclists. I can imagine a fix of that being far more expensive than something like the kerb SRD rightly points out as needing dropped like it's hot. Hate that kerb.

    I keep forgetting to tug steveo's sleeve about the ins and outs of an IR front light - if it was lensed, could one trigger the sensor?

    @ Uberuce. Are you sure that the traffic light detects you by IR and not by induction loops in the road?

    I clarenced a traffic light that's on my way to work and that never noticed me (leading to long and frustrating waits for a car accompanied by internal debates about the merits of a quick RLJ). Anyway, shortly after I clarenced it, the light started noticing me. Maybe worth a try if you've not done that yet.

    I think there's also something about the best place to ride over the loop. The one that controls the car park doors at work must be ridden over very precisely along one of the edges parallel to the direction of travel.

    I've never had to wait long for those lights to change at all. In fact, am often 'caught out' because I think its gone red, only to realise that the sequence has changed, its green and I've not gone.

    @Greenroofer: induction loops? *Googles*

    Not sure, now that I know such sorcery exists. I'm fairly sure it's IR, given the boxes on the top of the lights, but I'll scrutinise the road next time I'm there in daylight.

    SRD, yes: I get caught too. They change sequence absurdly quick when there's steady traffic each way.

    Obvious solution is to ask the people who hit these things with hammers until they behave to hit it with a hammer till it behaves.

    Coming down Gillsland Road bikes are detected and lights change much quicker than they used to.

    So maybe not just that kerb fixed!

    Shandon Parking - Drop-in Sessions

    In response to problems with parking raised by residents in Shandon the South West Neighbourhood Partnership of the Council has been looking at ideas to deal with some of those concerns, especially around safe access for emergency vehicles and making sure corners and narrow streets are not blocked.
