Catching up on paperwork while my better half is away on business...

The S2C kickback hub now has a wee write up on my blog, along with copies of the fault document from Sturmey Archer (since I may have mentioned, once or twice, that they sent it to me broken ;-)

The CarryFreedom hitch moves from left to right. Any reason for that?

Not wishing to put words in Dave's mouth, but mine's on the right as it sticks the angled connection bar out into traffic rather than near the curb. Coupled with some reflective tape, it's another prompt to cars to overtake wide.

Yeah, where possible I think right-mounting it is preferable, mainly because it projects into traffic, but also because you won't then find it jabbing your ankle if you walk with your bike on the right!

Good write-up, Dave. I'm surprised the bearings are so accessible to the elements; Sturmey's designs were often preferable to others because of their ability to cope with British weather. I wonder if the kickback idea could be used to engage a third gear?
