  1. I'll explain why this is He Lost rather than I Won...

Headed in on the Innocent today. Not giving it beans, but not pootling. I think I see someone a distance back, but think nothing of it. As I get to the top of the tunnel I'm suddenly aware of someone right on my tail. Very close indeed.

Ah well, he's a lot faster, thinks I, swallowing pride, figuring he'll go past if not before we hit the main roads, certainly once we get onto the Meadows. Except he basically drafts me all the way through to Tollcross.

Once there... He skips through red on the wrong side of the road, crossing with pedestrians over the Lauriston Road junction, and onto the pavement. Automatic disqualification. Faster than me, but loses on a technicality.

Ditto the guy with no mudguards who passed me a couple of weeks ago. He wasn't that fast so I passed him in turn to get away from the spray then he went through a red light in Baillieston.

@Anth - I've seen that guy before and he did the exact same thing with me going the other way. Except I made the mistake of trying to drop him in the headwind. I managed to stay ahead of him all the way to the innocent but I was banjaxed and he'd barely broken a sweat!
