Proof, if it were needed, of just how inattentive and unobservant some drivers really are!
A confused driver has ended up trapping his car on the steps of a Paris metro station, after mistaking it for the entrance to an underground car park.
"There's a sign saying 'Haussmann Parking' right in front... I made a mistake," the driver - identified only as Johan - told the AFP news agency.
Note how none of the cyclists made this mistake when parking their bikes!
Okay, so there's aparking sign by the steps, but surely the steps and the Metro signs would contradict that!
(France has a habit of lots an dlots of underground car parks, but not sure I've ever seen one with that narrow and steep an entry!)
What an eejit. He obviously subscribes to the "if I just put my foot down and accelerate towards it then it will be OK" school of motoring.
Please let them take his licence away!
Reminds me of the driver who got her car wedged at the exit to Old College as she tried to drive out of the quad through the side pedestrian arch rather than the central vehicle one.
Shouldn't happen again now they've grassed the quad over and removed the parking from it...

Ach, that car in the station's nothing. In Brussels they get them all the way in.
Navigator to driver: "I think that's the way to the underground parking, through that tunnel over there. Yeah, uh, just follow the tram lines."
