*points to title* Good work, fella. I'm keeping the two I've got for next year...

Just brilliant!! Luckily Bikefan and Uberuce got to HP early, I was delayed by sleeping baby and (only slightly) arrival of DaveC to pickup tagalong. They got everyone organised and decorated. In the end we didn't use any balloons at all!

Good man - keep them safe!

Perhaps I shouldn't tell you, but if you take the pennant off the wider one, you can put your two together and have one monster nearly-3m-high-pole and pennant :o) Maybe not the thing for cycling under trees in the Meadows, right enough!

I've got two back here, but if anyone knows the whereabouts of four other black poles, I'd be grateful if you could get in touch. If they're being saved for next year like Uberuce, that's no problem - but if not, let me know and I can collect them.

Got to agree with Uberuce. Our Harrison Park pennant fluttered elegantly on the flagpole on the back of our EBC tagalong, and BikeFan fitted it quickly and efficiently and charmingly for us.

I've got a black pole here in Fifeland. I have to confess, it's maybe a foot shorter than originally. I kicked it swinging my leg over the bike of my bike during a panting dismount as the two tonne tank refused to change down any gears as I was grunting my way up the cycle path in the park, heading back to Harrison Park.

If it's any consolation, Ellen sat in her trailer poking me in the back with it, shouting 'go faster' all the way back to the the Park.

Quote Kirst. " Hah, that's us in the background",

listen guys, can we have a CCE HERE banner next year where we can drop in to introduce ourselves? I know a few on here now but know I probably cycled past or even with others I didn't recognise.

Instography - Excellent, that's five located on here. SRD has put the "feelers" out and knows of two, so only one to find.

    Greenroofer - "blush"

Dave C - Are you going to tell Uberuce you've commandeered his monster nearly-3m-high-pole? He's going to be awfully upset :o)

I'm doing yogic diaphragm strengthening exercises just so I can spit my dummy out further.

I went for a coffee at Mr Z's at around 12.50; mostly because I was so twitchy that I needed something else to do aside from obsessively check my marshal's bag of mechanical and biological fixey stuff. Not that I needed any of it, which in itself is an amazing thing.

By 1.15 we already had the number we expected(40), and by the 1.30 kickoff, another 80 had rocked up.

I was leading the ride, so I had to try and find a good spot to park a century of cyclists to wait for the rear of the group; we were obeying the silly IR-sensor lights, so we got split up.

Next year, I'm getting a hands-free phone set so I've got real-time information about the back end. Being unable to see round corners was a drawback.

    Walkie talkies would help.

Needless to say I'm kicking myself for not borrowing the ones from my work.

I took the flag off Tigermoth[1]'s tagalong flagpole and was about to chuck it when Mrs Spitters said worth keeping for posterity so I wrote on it in permanent marker "First protest" and the date.

I second what Instaography said - I was even seriously considering a bluetooth headset for me to be able to hear Tigermoth[1] on the bak of the tag along (having to turn head to point ear at said junior was not handy at all)
But defo walkie talkies for the marshals - genius idea

I still have mine attached to the back of the 'bent - I'll put it away carefully for the next time.
