LBP Bike Marking heads East

Well I couldn't make it yesterday to the bike marking. I did pop to the supermarket later on, and noted that the bike parking outside the Meadowbank retail giant has had a facelift. Gone are the wheelbenders, replaced with a 'designer' Sheffield-type rack. Much more secure, still only space for six bikes though and no cover from the elements. I suppose they got fed up with folk locking their bikes to the drainpipes in preference to the wheel benders.
Meanwhile, following the recent refurbishment of the store, cars got an extra four parking spaces right next to the front entrance. Maybe these are supposed to be disabled/family spaces, but everyone just uses them for going to the nearby ATM. As a result the bike parking is squeezed on the small bit of pavement between the new car parking and a trolley shelter. Still, at least I don't have to lock up to the drainpipes or use the 'official' Meadowbank retail park cycle stands, right over the other side of the car park...
