Sentence seems about right - wonder if they would have got the same here, or if he wasn't drunk ?

I had the same thought. (Especially given the bike lacked reflectors & lights.) Wonder what the sentence there would be for just driving with that level of alcohol in blood?

@chdot, they could probably ban someone for life but whether or not they ever stuck to it would be a matter for speculation and as many drink/drivers who have been banned for short periods have been caught re-offending days, weeks or months, later then I would say no. DVLA do not seem to keep a record of such things or perhaps it is a case of not being reported to them. When this lad gets out and returns to the UK where he is from then will this life ban count, probably not, and I would think enforcement in the States would be just as difficult as it is here, particularly legislating across state to state.

One the 1st offense - 1 year license suspension and 2 days minimum up to 1 year in prison
3rd offense is life time ban
