If you notice gaggles of 'courier types' around town this weekend, it's because of the 2010 British & Irish Cycle Courier Championships.

    From the schedule:

"Bristo Sq (where that big purple thing is)"

They do know that the big purple thing isn't a permanent addition? (it's there on the linked to Google Maps sat view)

  4. I rode into work today with a courier chap from the Edinburgh Fixed Gear forum (met once before and he appeared on the Innocent Path just as I joined). He's got slight misgivings about the time trial, given they're expecting upwards of 40 people riding it, and setting off at one minute intervals. Let's face it, red lights and so on are going to mean nothing.

I'm hoping to be able to hop on the bike at some point tomorrow (busy day tomorrow involving a very early boat trip onto the Bass Rock and dinner at the opposite end of the day). The time trial takes in the Innocent Tunnel...

Rollapaluza are going to be set up as well - really annoyed I can't make it in the evening! There are events on Sunday as well I think.

I think they should visit the skatepark for a bit of cross-cultural interaction.

Am I right in thinking that "Urban keirin, track stand and skid comp" at Bristo Sq might make for good spectating?

Ach it'll be a laugh whatever the weather.Just get out there and do it.....or watch it. then go home and slag it off in the comfort of your own forum. I'm sure there'll be enough red light jumping to keep everybody busy for weeks to come. ;-) Its sre to be a busy weekend though what with the 10k the rugby the BICCC and Beltane....
