Thanks. I'm trying to figure out where on earth "Blackford / Nether Liberton" is, as it's not explained anywhere on the council's documents. As far as I can figure out from random internet sites, Blackford and Nether Liberton are kind of in opposite directions from my flat (which is off Mayfield Road, near West Savile Terrace) so I might live there and not know it, but I've never heard the area being called by that name before, so maybe not. Does anyone have a map which defines Blackford / Nether Liberton?

Presumably 2 separate schemes(?)

"nether": lower - under - bottom - inferior
Not sure which of these fits ;-)

I grew up in Gilmerton - Nether Liberton is the area at the very bottom of Gilmerton Road (in fact, I think the wee right turn just before the lights at the end is called Nether Liberton something or other - used to be a scout hall there) but not entirely sure where the boundary is - I reckon it stretches south toward Liberton Brae/Kirk Brae.
I am guessing that this is simply a result of the previous extensions of Parking Zones pushing 'park and ride' commuters further south.
I used to live on Blackford Avenue (at the junction with West Saville Terrace) until 8 years ago it was dead quiet - whereas now it is rammed during the day, and my own zone (S1) is dead quiet.
Worth every penny of the £80 if you are a car owner, but unsure how it goes about resolving the issue of people travelling into Edinburgh via car - next logical step, people parking in Gilmerton / Burdiehouse and jumping on the bus there??

@chdot "Blackford/Nether Liberton" seems to be talked about in the consultation document as if it was one scheme in one area.
@Dave ta :)
@Nelly - thanks! I suppose I do live there then - Nether Liberton is some distance south east of me and Blackford is some distance west. We'll see soon if a letter pops through the door. Seems odd that the council has no map of this area up. I've lived there a dozen years and all this time I thought I lived in Newington...

Were ESPC involved in the definition? Its not that long since it appeared that Corstorphine would come to encompass the entire city, other than Morningside and Joppa.

My favourite ESPC definition was for flats in Lower Colinton - possibly better known to you as Wester Hailes.
