Cycling adventure this morning.
Discovered a puncture on rear tyre at Cramond on way on to work from FIfe and while replacing I must have been offered assistance from at least 3 other cyclists.
I thought I had this covered but made things tricky for myself by replacing tube but not locating an offending piece of wire that caused original puncture - so you guessed it managed to immediately puncture the new tube.
Enter George (Sands?) from Edinburgh Bicycle Coop whom I have exchanged passing waves with for the last year .
He gave me a spare tube and a master class in replacing tube and tyre.
So , after first hand experience that cyclists are a very friendly, helpful bunch I encountered a worried chap on the ground off his bike in Davidson Mains. He asked me for help - complained of chest pains and sore arms and mentioned he had previously suffered a heart attack. Called 999 for him and within a few minutes a paramedic arrived to check this chap out . Ambulance was on its way and I hope that everything ends up okay for this guy. I wish I has exchanged numbers with him to find out .
Just struck me what a spirit of kinship there is between cyclists that I cannot identify with outside cycling.
Quite a morning - I just hope everything works out okay for Mike.
