    Don't you mean:

    • He is the best cyclist Britain has ever produced. Inspirational.
    • He has set back cycling in Britain by decades

@kaputnik I'm assuming he means him.

"Best" is of course highly subjective.

He has had the advantage of a 'new era' where top pros can be English speaking and subsequently Lottery and Sky money - and the truly impressive 'technicians'.

Not wishing to take anything away from him but he has had opportunities that didn't exist before.

"has set back cycling in Britain by decade"

    NO

Even if he meant what the media interpreted him as meaning.

The amount of contrary comment - from mainstream newspapers etc. - showed that making cycling 'safer' is a real issue.

Lottery funding and talent are the main reasons why @TeamGB is doing so well in the cycling, @Chris_Boardman tells @BBCNewsnight #BBC2012

You're right chdot, it is a shame that some of our best cyclists didn't fit into the new era. Michael Hutchinson is a good example.

it both amuses and disturbs me that people took humour in a self censored post that due to the inadequacies of this system could not be self destructed...
nor could the poll be removed...
    I hate this place
