"Did I miss the only opportunity to sit out side at a PY this year?"

    No.

The Rapha group were archetypes of that particular tribe.

I think we are also possibly archetypes of our tribe too [tho to be in our tribe you do only have to be a commuter on a bicycle]. We have much love of ortlieb, we are all obsessed with potholes, we allseem pro-Lothian Buses. Any other traits we all share?

Rapha group? Darn, I missed them. :-(

I missed Min.... only her teapot remained!

And a whiff of sulphur? :-)

A sense of amazement at the QBC?

Gembo, another one is taking a picture of everything then hosting them on Flickr, Twitter and the forum with indecent haste.

@gembo, one CCEer here with no Ortlieb products, but four of Carradice!

We do also love carradice I should add. None of us fessing on owning Rapha tho. I have a pal who asked me what cycling thing he should get his brother as he had everything. I said get him a Rapha top as nobody would ever buy themselves such a thing. He thought that idea was spiffing but on finding out the price he bought him some bolt cutters instead

I have a reasonable quantity of rapha gear, all harvested from their various offers. It is very good, once you look past the price...

I also have loads of carradice stuff, so hopefully the two cancel out!

I'm up for PY this week, if it's nice I'll even be able to present the still-shiny "new bike" that a few people have seen in box form.

Looking like the best of the weather this week is Tue / Thu, if anyone's interested?

Bought a new pair of Wiggle DHB bibs as my Giordanas had apparently had it. Not quite as nice but serviceable, and I don't feel I have to ride quite as fast (you can't be slow in Assos ;-)

If it's the Aeron DHBs, they're most excellent. Set a date and I'll see if I can do it!

  11. By the same token I could take the Noomaded bike along for a giggle.

    For giggles and shots, please.

  13. Oh that's a given. First proper ride should be tomorrow (partly because I've promised to pop by TBC with it). Just need to strengthen the connection at the front still, but should be easily done.

Going to get so many weird looks. And oging to have to leave earlier cos I reckon the extra weight and so on might make it rather a slow rig over distance - for the same reason maybe take the easy route in the morning of the Innocent.

    OK, how about tomorrow then?

Met says no rain so I'm in the clear...

That will prevent any dithering over which route I and my camera take tomorrow morning.

  16. Ah, can't do that much earlier tomorrow. Can do Thursday though.

SWMBO reminds me that I've got a dentist's appt tomorrow first thing anyway. Provisionally Thurs?

Thursday? Hmm I'll try and make it but school is back and I fear I'll be roped into helping get the boys ready for school at least one day this week.

Thursday works for moi. Means juggling flexi, but I do want a look at the freakshow. Do you want that scope back, Anth?

Work from home arranged. I'll be there for breakfast, then home at 9 for second breakfast.

Will try, subject to the dreaded w.o.r.k. :-0

Is there a bike type/dress code on Thursday? There seems to be a lot of talk of velocipedes (and wigs!) other than peoples "usual"...?

I think the dress code is "new if you got it"... I'm bringing my bright blue fair-weather Strava machine and Anth the "upright wrong trike"

Notice that EBC is going half price roadie shades in their forthcoming sale. May just be able to top off my disguise (although I'll never fit in with the beautiful people with an alu frame!)

Sounds like a plan - another way to put off writing up my thesis for half an hour :)

  26. Good turnout this morning and sitting outside!

Dave's new bike is looooovely, nice striking colour that (though clearly not as pretty as the Noomad trike...).

Nice to see everyone during my flying visit(!)
Dave's new bike is indeed lovely, though we established that the noomad is a multi-modal design fail as it is too narrow to easily pop a Brommie on the front ;-) looks funky mind you!

I'm in the market for a matching rear tyre, new helmet, appropriate gloves and a few other items after passing under the critical eye of the MMW fashion posse :P

Pair of white Knog leather 'Love Hate' gloves, and a nice white retro cap from Prendas?

Did yesterday (Thursday) suit people more than 'traditional' Friday?

    This could be September's venue.

    6th or 7th??
