I'm sure that last time I cycled (or walked, having left bike?) from the BikeWorks to Dalkeith Road, I cut through to Causewayside via Sciennes House Place, and noticed a little leather repair shop on the left hand side. Did I imagine this? or has it closed? or is it on a different road entirely?

Any advice appreciated, or suggestions for somewhere else local that might be willing to restitch a much-loved pair of heavy sheepskin slippers.

Do you mean William Scott & Son sporran makers? The place always looks like it has shut down but they are still in business.

I like have a look for other options when I next go down Causewayside.

There's a leather repair place on either Lauriston Street or Lady Lawson Street - he's very good.

PS - if you see someone cycling around with one slipper in her basket - that's me!

    :)
