Looks great! I like the funky paving. Not so sure about the fact that they're scrabbling around to try and find another two parking places so that none are lost...

    What's with the silver squiggle?

Interesting that they put a genuinely small car (an original Mini) in the mock picture. Wonder how a few BMW X5s would appear?

The retention of two way traffic on Chapel Street is a disappointment. Not sure how this will work as during rush hour, north-south traffic counts can be pretty high along here. I just don't see how this will work for pedestrians, cyclists and quite a lot of motorists sharing. I guess the idea is that traffic calming will discourage people from driving along here?

All the "traffic calming" in the world doesn't seem to stop any other traffic-calmed parts of Edinburgh being full of parked and otherwise mobile vehicles.

I cycled home through the "closed to traffic" Grassmarket the other night after Akva, was quite perturbed to find it full of taxis from one end of the other which get in by sneaking down the side streets and then ply up and down doing pick-ups and drop-offs.

Rose Street is another example of that particular pedestrianisation that Edinburgh seems to like, which provides 2 4hour vehicle access and parking.

ah but the enormous duck in the artist's impressio will be used to eat cars

our taxi driver on sat night took daft route from Canongait on to Prnices St, said he was avoiding the cowgate. What was wrong with Lawn Market i wonder? he did then say he was a cyclist so I gave him a tip anyway (oh yes and he was so embarassed he switched the meter off whilst we were waiting on trams and traffic light sequences.

    Ta.

I saw that and the QBiC mention and assumed there must be a different Causey thread.

    Maybe revert to this?

Should probably revisit the QBiC too, but that’s a whole other other!

More power to social media shaming.

Same lorry now sensibly parked two morning in a row whilst unloading. Never seen it do that once in the two years I've been passing this.

I had previously emailed several times to both the company and restaurant who was getting the delivery, neither responded.

It's sitting with the DPEA (shocker): https://www.dpea.scotland.gov.uk/CaseDetails.aspx?ID=120449

Can't imagine there will be much activity until well into 2020 when CCWEL and Leith Street TRO/RSOs are sorted.

The costs to implement the proposed improvements for the Causey Project will be approximately £1.7m. Current Council funding has identified £250k.
    That doesn't sound particularly promising...

Quite frankly, is there any point if CEC does its usual 'pedestrianisation'? Just back from a walk down Rose St. Was driven at by several vans, some driving the wrong way. Said vehicles were only slowed occasionally by the many illegally parked vehicles. What's the point in CEC laying new setts near Hanover St at no doubt large expense when they will be trashed in no time by being driven on by 10+ ton lorries?

Let's face it, CEC has no competence whatsoever in enforcing restrictions on its vehicular plague.
