'We' all know that cycling is good for personal health and 'we believe' that it probably saves the NHS money - and even more if more people cycled. I presume someone has done some research(?)

The quotes below are about the results of smoking bans.

"may still have saved the NHS over £8m."

"Research from Scotland, where a ban was introduced in March 2006, reported a 17% decrease in heart attack admissions in the year after its ban."

I posted about this topic on Twitter and got a response

"@CyclingEdin better questions How much does it cost the NHS? or Should cyclists have to pass a test and hold a licence & insurance?"

Name of Twit? - edinburghvan... (yes it's white)

There has been a certain amount of work done by Malcolm Wardlaw, such as Three lessons for a better cycling future and Assessing the actual risks faced by cyclists. Also Lloyd and Lee Cycling and Health.
