Decidedly chilly in Polmont this morning, freezing fog and ice forming on the front of my gloves meant a fair bit of caution on skinny 23c tyres :-o
Be careful out there guys and gals.

Minus 2 on the thermometer but as the roads were dry last night I'm hoping for an uneventful journey

Lovely frost patterns on my north facing and east facing attic windows. Possibly due to freezing fog in the night which was quite thick. Will be on the NEPN later this morning so may need to put the spikes back on?

-3.6 at my place. Cold fingers on bike.

Thanks to NWHaulage for giving me space and not expecting me to ride in the icy gutter.

All water present was still in the liquid state this morning between The Shore and Roseburn. Watch out for utes carrying trailers with woodchippers.

No frost observed, but plenty of fog on my windscreen.

No ice this morning, but it was a totally beautiful ride to work - the thin frost on the meadows with a mist rising up being caught by the rising sun...

  8. A commute to work accompanied by the sound of windscreen scraping. Lovely.

The mist around the Castle, combined with the low sun, was creating a nice rainbow up the side of Castle Rock viewed from Castle Trerace.

There was a moment, at the bottom of Lothian Road, where the mist catching in the sun was creating a gazillion little fireflies. It really was, genuinely, beautiful to watch moving in the breeze. Pointed the video camera at it, though doubt it has picked it up well at all.

There was a large patch of water on the otherwise dry canal path this morning, at the west end of the aquaduct where the blind bend is...it looked very much as though someone had been for an unintentional swim.

And a heron standing motionless in the grass, a few hundred yards west of that.

So that's why it felt warm this afternoon -

Still ice on the canal late afternoon.

Shorts on my legs late afternoon no tights as the ones I had on in the morning were fleece lined and would have been too warm

  13. It was beautiful in Duddingston this morning - get to Lothian Road and it's 'orrible and murky. Even more so than usual I want to be back where I started the day!

Some chance of sub zero tonight - especially away from built-up areas.
