Thank goodness we didn't book a camp site for next week...
CityCyclingEdinburgh was launched on the 27th of October 2009 as "an experiment".
IT’S TRUE!

Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.
RULES No personal insults. No swearing.

Light snow in Edinburgh this morning. Melting fast.
Anyone know what conditions are like out at Straiton, Roslin or Dalkeith? Due out that way today...
Coming in from Eskbank - the roads were okay, though some residual slush to be careful of on some of the less main main roads. Minor roads were covered. I suspect that the back roads, particularly higher up would be difficult.
Everything is fine in Livingston (on the roads that is) - conditions are usually worse here than in Edinburgh.
If the sun keeps shining I would expect the snow that the sun gets to to melt quite quickly.
@amir, cheers: I may make some minor route adjustments then! I presume railway paths are out of the question?
Two mini gritters at the top of the Innocent tunnel this morning. I said thank you on the way past! The path was liquid even as the air temperature plummeted to a gasp-inducing level on the lower reaches.
One mini grit spreader on the NEPN at the north side of old BAE Systems. He was parked up and being refilled from a transit flatbed.
I then happened to look north at the new flats being built off Crewe Rd North, I was sheffield Stands going in outside the flat blocks. Only 4 - 5 from the looks of it but at least the builder has put them in. Are they forced to do this as part of planning applications now? I'm sure an underground/ground level secure room would have been prefered though? Also noticed that parking looks sparce! I expext lots of pavement parking when/if they sell and fill up.
