I'm glad it's you saying that, and not a contractor working for a developer or the council. In the latter case, I'd be seriously worried as to what exactly they had "fixed".

Perhaps any "designer" who is trying to create (or purchase) excessively fancy (but ultimately less useful) bike parking stands needs to be given a copy of the following quote as a reminder:
