Well. I had five minutes to spare, so guess how many bikes I counted crossing the Roseburn Viaduct between 17:25 & 17:30 tonight. G'wan have a guess.
Answer tomorrow :-)
CityCyclingEdinburgh was launched on the 27th of October 2009 as "an experiment".
IT’S TRUE!
CCE is 15years old!
Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.
RULES No personal insults. No swearing.

21 1/2
Nope.
I'm going to help you all out by stating that no unicycles were spotted.
I was allowing for precise timekeeping cutoff with a bike passing you.
So 22 then.
Or a tagalong?
117
^ I'm afraid Yorkshire got the Tour De France Grand Depart.
None at all? (Except yourself).
^You fail to take account of the Wiggo effect.
Although somewhat surprisingly that was actually the number of pedestrians.
I saw more than thirty between Five Ways and Roseburn this morning.
13?
42?
Well: Time to put you all out of your collective misery. The answer is..............
17. How dull
However on a cheery note I can't help but think that it is an encouragingly high number for the middle of February. I know it was quite a nice day, but you don't just hop onto your bike mid-winter to commute to work on a whim.
0 pedestrians was a bit of a surprse. Maybe all the lumen wars have scared them off the path/
"17"
So I was slightly overoptimistic.
"However on a cheery note I can't help but think that it is an encouragingly high number for the middle of February"
Agreed.
No tease here! On the Slateford aqueduct this morning there were 10 cyclists crossing at the same time today at about 8.30. A record count for me in 2 years of commuting this way..
I can't believe how many bikes I see with childseats these days. Would love some proper data that woud tell me if there s really an increase in use or not.
If the Scottish government ever release the census data we'd at least know what had happened to commuting rates area by area. From the blogs they seem to be out for England, Wales & NI - Lord knows what they're doing with the Scottish figures
