The London Cycling Campaign has designed a new Safer Urban Lorry, and is calling on the construction industry to adopt it to make our towns and cities safer for walking and cycling.

Why have they left the wheels open, with lots of nice snagging points? They could have easily covered them over with smooth body work, much like a tram.

Even if the construction lorry has to go on muddy sites, they could always make the wheel cover panels removable for cleaning, de-clagging etc.
