some of the cyclists at work were grumbling about it being 10 degrees. I pointed out it was 21 degrees warmer than it was 5 months previous when they were nowhere to be seen in the locker room.

If the rain is not of Biblical deluge proportions, I'll be the one on my wife's (Giant ladies MTB) bike with a 2 year old in a seat on the back...
On the other hand, nothing beats a bacon roll after a good soaking!

Rode past the office on the way, couldn't resist the urge to swing into the garage.... Now warm and showered i'm off to get a bacon roll from the cafe.

Perhaps that's why the changing rooms in my office are kept at a cosy 22° all year round.
Went up the high street (noting, with some disapproval, some people cycling up the pavement) but I was already going to be technically late for work by the time I went past.

I was hanging around from 10 to 8 for my map. Got number 2/20 as the bell tolled 8AM. Read a board about the "canal quarter" as I scoffed my bacon roll. Scoffed a bit more, then hung around for a chat until I realised it was 825 and I was 10 minutes late leaving. Rushed off.

Good turnout considering the weather. Excellent in fact. I bought a map, having missed out by aaaaaages on the freebie. Chatted with a few new folk, realised that it was already 25 to 9; quickly grabbed a headset press from Arellcat and scarpered to work.
Oh, and did a bit of scoffing too. And had a few comments (complimentary) about my moustache bars.

Good to finally say hello to some of you in person - I should say I don't normally look quite so wet. A particualr thanks to the guy from EBC who de-gunked my chain, really not a good way for anyone to start their day.

Very nice to meet crowriver and daughter, and see laidback and arellcat again. Got there a bit late as I let daughter have lie in while I put supper in slow-cooker.
As we left she asked 'Mummy why are all your cycling buddies men'? which is obviously not true as we met two women cyclists we know (and crowriver's daughter), but depressing none the less.

Hello to anyone who was there after 9 and I didn't speak to, alas could only make it then due to school run and daughter in tow. Alas, because the catering were all out of rolls: offered bacon in a napkin but declined. Tummy rumbling now, curse of the hungry cyclist (cf. back issues of Yehuda Moon). Good coffee though!
Nice to chat with SRD, easily spotted on the Helios! Tried to catch Laidback but he had customers so just had a wee wander with my daughter. Didn't buy anything, picked up Spokes newsletters and council/Bike Station maps for friends. Also a lovely pink Spokes balloon for my daughter, she was really pleased.

slowly! Actually, my "regular" lid is blue and white. Bought to match an older bike, whose colour scheme I am slowly migrating away from (but the blue arm warmers and shoe covers refuse to lose themselves, fall apart or otherwise die and remain perfectly servicable!

Nice seeing those I could. Another wet bike breakfast - turnout was quietest I've seen. Nice that some people tried out the Paper Bike. Bike Station also had theirs along with their load carrying Bullitt. Yes... I am getting the PB set up as 8 speed! Ideal machine for keeping chain dry in the monsoon season.
Someone actually complained I hadn't brought any recumbents but Arellcat had hers to cover the 'genre'!

Just occurred to me that the wooden chaincover on the Paper Bike would go well with those wooden mudguards TBC posted on the Facebook a while back...
