Hope he is OK and back to his best on the bike soon as.

Lot of dogs off leashes and humans on phones these days

I could have taken several out this week if I had not come to a complete halt

My favourite genre of dog walkers are the ones who give you a sustained dirty look when you slow down as you approach their frolicking off-leash critter, as if you're somehow reproaching them rather than just trying to avoid squishing the dog or coming off the bike.

It always amuses me that when I slow down to a crawl a lot of dog owners think I am scared of their dog. I am just being careful not to injure it because I know how daft they can be.

One of my favourite cycles is along the Fife coastal path via the Limekilns shared path. Really narrow though with lots of blind corners and full of dog walkers after 8am. :)

The owners? My pet peeve is when they desperately try to get their poorly trained pooch to run across the path in front of you. Of course the pooch always waits until the last possibly moment to do so. If the owners would just let it be or better step across the path themselves everything would be hunkydory.

This morning, about 0725 at the junction of Grange Rd and Causewayside. Me heading west, thinking about my upcoming swim session. I slow and stop in the ASL.

On the Salisbury Place side of the junction, next to the map library, an incident is taking place, which takes a moment to register.

A dishevelled and gammony-looking article (on foot) is getting right up in the face of a lady on a bike stopped in the ASL. Really, really close. I was about to intervene but she saw him off with a splendid stream of <rule 2> invective.

    You go girl.

What this absolute weapon thought he was playing at attempting to intimidate lone women like that...*despairs*
