CityCyclingEdinburgh was launched on the 27th of October 2009 as "an experiment".
IT’S TRUE!
CCE is 15years old!
Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.
RULES No personal insults. No swearing.
Thanks @Chdot
Worth noting that anyone who is a member of City Car Club can currently get a special deal on joining Brompton Dock at casual user rate. If you travel to Manchester (rail or air) there is a convenient hire unit at Piccadilly Station, and for Heathrow the unit at Ealing Broadway is convenient for picking up a bike on the way in to London.
If travelling down the East Coast, there is a unit at Peterborough Station, hop off, collect bike and catch next train to London.
GSK and University of Greenwich have installed 'private' systems for staff/student use, and Whittington Hospital is first NHS site. For Greenwich the Bromptons offer a higher, and more flexible level of service then the inter-site buses (and bus?-train-bus? for Chatham campus)and potentially cheaper than trying to deliver high frequency bus services. Potential for some Edinburgh campus sites? ERI?
"Potential for some Edinburgh campus sites? ERI?"
Definitely should do.
At ERI there is NHS and UofE.
Think if I was BromptonDock I'd target Waverleygate first.
'Right sort of tenants' PLUS next to a large station with trains in all directions...
St Andrew House and/or Scottish Parliament.
Plenty people travel between them.
