Indeed...
The row was widely seen as one of the uglier flashpoints of the lengthy referendum campaign, which also saw Scottish Labour’s Jim Murphy pelted with eggs by Yes supporters during a street speaking tour.
Well that's not quite what actually happened, but why let the recorded truth get in the way of the Hootsman's campaign to portray the Yes campaign as an angry mob out to lynch Nick Robinson and turn Jim Murphy into a human omelette.
