CityCyclingEdinburgh was launched on the 27th of October 2009 as "an experiment".
IT’S TRUE!
CCE is 16years old!
Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.
RULES No personal insults. No swearing.
Not good.

I wonder if this black Ford Focus has previous?
A common car / colour, but...
Black Ford Focus SK10 NT0 / SK10 NTO. I'd stopped at the traffic lights at the Lanark Road/Longstone Road junction...
I think I recognise that description from at least two previous encounters with said vehicle in Chesser area. Pretty aggressive driver with utter disregard for anyone else on the road. Actively avoid.

just to hear the black ford focus reving as it clearly was driven by a VIP. 2 traffic calming humps ahead i can see the bus indicating a stop at the bus stop, guess what, mrs (it was a woman ) focus HAS to get passed the bike so she speeds past, too close and almost instantly has to slam on the anchors to prevent rear ending the bus !

06:20AM this morning, cyclist and black ford focus. Focus was stopped in the middle of the roundabout. Cyclist was up and talking to driver as I passed, police car arrived just behind me. Driver heading east into the rising sun. Looked like cyclist was OK but bike was lying flat on the ground.

and more...
Hope the cyclist heals up quickly
There is a black Ford Focus I am very wary around, goes from Currie to Wester hailes turn at gillespie's most mornings, has ladders on the roof. Watched driver chuck his coffee out the window at a cyclist. Also he likes to hug the kerb on the other side. If I want past I take the pavement route. Very common car tho. Used to be a black cosworth the ladders sat on top of, which was a less common vehicle. I only usually avoid the black focus if it has ladders on top.
Looks like one for the sentient beings thread...
"The car failed to stop following the collision, and police are now keen to trace the driver"
Why are they trying to trace the driver if it was the car that failed to stop?
GWS cyclist.
"
The incident, which happened just after 7pm at the junction of Dalkeith Road and Craigmillar Castle Road, saw the 47-year-old stretchered to hospital as he suffered a host of injuries including whiplash, extensive bruising and a fractured elbow.

When I saw this earlier 6 of the 7 comments had already been removed (in less than 1hr). Now I see they've been turned off.
Luckily there's a thread on the EEN's FB which you can peruse until you've had your fill of cyclist-directed bile, and bilge, including this nugget which, if you were looking for a roofer and roughcaster in the Gifford area, might make you think twice about hiring it's author:
"Cause my road tax money goes to fixing the roads and making cycle lanes not tax payers money it is motorists car tax witch pays for this. So wen and if by law use R made to pay for this then use have a right to comment"
So much hatred towards bicycles and their riders.
