After a brief press conference, Tusk and Juncker are now taking questions. They are asked how long a “long extension” is. “Until the very end,” Juncker says, to laughter in the room.

Petition on the verge of hitting three million. Current highest was the one asking for the referendum outcome to be based on more than a simple majority, which hit 4.1M.

sadly, as the delightful Andrea Leadsom pointed out, "Should it reach 17.4 million then I am sure there will be a very clear case for taking action".

I think the 4.1M one was revised down, once they realised it had been 'bot'd'.

We're in the realms of politics, lobbying and public influence. MPs have some significant decisions to make in the next week and anything that suggests that there is a groundswell of public opinion against Brexit, that might just tip them towards delay, a public vote or revoking, has to be a good thing.

I did wonder what measues were in place to make sure that 3M real people who only voted once.

Not that the petition is lkikely to influence anything in reality sadly.

Finally it's a story on the beeb:

Facebook employees raised concerns about Cambridge Analytica's data-scraping practices three months earlier than thought, according to US court documents.

A US-based employee warned colleagues about the activity in September 2015.

Facebook had said it previously discovered the improper sharing of data on 87 million people three months later, in December 2015.

The Tories love history - now she is 'becoming history' expect sickening platitudes from all those that tried to kill her off.

Sky News and Torygraph will run tributes and plead with 'the nation' to support her deal as a matter of respect to her 'sense of duty'.

Her demise has got everything... revenge on a woman daring to follow Margaret T... warnings to the other enemies of the state (DUP/SNP et al)... endless twitter tattle. Above all it keeps the media centred on southern right wingers as the media will now get into a state wondering about which unelected leader will replace her.

Shes as slippery as an eel. I don't trust a word she says and don't think she'll be gone just yet.

The obscene moral spectacle of Theresa May's resignation

"And yet here we all are, locked into their swirling psychological horror story, trapped in this dreadful room with them, our national fate dependant on what these cynical, self-interested, mendacious, emotionally incontinent, ideologically deranged buffoons happen to decide at any given moment. Not one person in this rabble believes a single thing they are saying. It is a godawful mixture of religious zeal, personal ambition and tribal lunacy."

“This whole thing has gone beyond words.”

That so can’t be true (for someone whose new life is words!)

However, it became increasingly clear after the vote that Downing Street does not believe the deal is dead.

What. What. No. No. May wants to try a FOURTH MEANINGFUL VOTE. Someone end this. Please!

    “Someone end this.”

    Define “this”.

Hard Brexit 12th April certainly wouldn’t be ‘the end’.

    Softerish B - permanently unending.

TMay resigns - just another beginning.

EU election looks like a hot bet.

Crazily having a GE on same day can’t be ruled our.

    Climate Chaos carries on.

UK politicians “born with silver spoons in their mouths, who went to private schools and elite universities” were responsible for the current impasse in parliament, but were unlikely to suffer the direct consequences of their actions, he said.

Since I was in London I thought I would go and see the Brexit crazies on College Green, to ones you see on the telly.

    It took about half an hour to get each side to stop campaigning at me and just talk. Here is what I learned;

Both sides were motivated by sadness and anger.

The Leavers were angry that the vote wasn't being respected and the loss of a 'traditional' view of a united Britain.

The Remainers were angry that the vote was a fraud and the loss of their European identity.

If these feelings run as wide and deep as they appear to then England is in real trouble. I can't see any figure who comes anywhere near being a unifying force other than Her Britannic Majesty.

maybe we're at the end of this stage of the UK democratic process and the Queen should just dissolve parliament appoint a council of ministers in a purely advisory role.

After that we can really start to take back control...

Charles, Duke of Rothesay and High Steward of Scotland, Earl of Chester and Prince of Wales is the man to take charge of a Council of National Unity.

With his mother's blessing only he can ensure that a dustman from Inverness, a fish-gutter in Milford Haven, a gangster in Ballymena and a stockbroker from Surrey are sure their future is in safe hands.

Now Mrs May is hopping into bed — it’s a horrible image, sorry — with Anglophobe, terrorist-supporting, Russia-loving commie Corbyn.

Incendiary stuff. Classic stab-in-the-back narrative to shift blame for national defeat from those in power to those not in power.

'Anglophobe' is a new and dispiriting term. I suppose we're going to see more of it.

Virtually inciting violence towards 'traitor politicians'.
Is that an actual Sun editorial? Highly irresponsible with violent language tailored to provoke British isolationists.
