Coincidentally, this morning I saw a lassie on her bike get ravelled with/obstructed by the queue of buses for the stop before the Haymarket lights, where the road is currently partially obstructed by a SSE hole in the pavement requiring pedestrians to be diverted on to the carriageway. (Things were certainly not helped by three cars, including one private hire vehicle, being illegally parked on the double red lines outside the Troy cafe, right next to the "No parking at any time" sign for <rule two's> sake.)

She had an animal carrier bungied on to her pannier rack with a cloth/rug over it - looked like cat/small dog size. So at least one person in Edinburgh appears to transport their small animal friend by bicycle.

I'd also note that she appeared serenely unbothered by the mess created by the motorised traffic, dismounting from her bike with a smile and stotting cheerfully off on foot with her bike by her side. (Any possible link between demeanour and the possession of a furry familiar remains unproven at this time.)
