Attached is my dissertation questionnaire for commuters by bicycle in the City of Edinburgh. I am an undergraduate at the University of Aberdeen and I would be very grateful if you could spare 2 minutes to complete my short survey. Can you clarify what exactly counts as "dedicated on-road cycling infrastructure"?
Painted cycle lanes, segregated cycleways, off-road paths?
I'm 25, and therefore am in two of your age groups. I also ride mostly on segregated off-road infrastructure, so if the question is anything along the lines of "does segregated infrastructure increase cycling" based on Q6, you may get misleading results. Q7 is hard, I'm assuming it relates to painted infrastructure, but it's not clear. There's also the issue of width, solid white lines vs dashed white lines, as well as whether it's legal to park in them, it's hard to generalise.
Hi Kerr - survey completed. Please don't take this the wrong way, but I think it needs a bit of work. I'm happy to make a few suggestions - although I appreciate it's probably a bit late for that.

When submitting a survey on CCE, always get CCE to vet it first, before launching...

It will show that the OP is more or less competent at writing a survey and analysing the results. He'll probably learn as much from comments in this thread as from the survey results...
Edited to add: I've done the survey although possibly I should not have as I bike-train-bike to Livingston.
Question 7 - the presence of paint on the road does not make a difference to how safe I feel, but there wasn't a "no difference" option.

I assumed "dedicated" was synonymous primarily with "segregated" and secondarily with "painted". I also assumed for Q7, given the context of Q8, that "on-road cycle lanes" meant paint.
